Dude on the decks…

So when the dude on the decks saw me walking into Port Said (gastro bar), he took one look at me and gave me my own official unofficial entrance music and played Z'aka's Melody by Sarah Badani.

Dude on the decks entered into a pure flow state of mind that night and played some amazing records from the never ending library behind him. It was so hard to focus on my conversations with those around me as I was eagerly waiting for what he was going to play next. I tried to Shazam some of those tunes, but that failed. Dude on the decks destroyed Shazam!

The night flowed to way to quickly (as good nights do!) and there were;

- Shots of tequila
- Shots of some home made stuff, (can't quite remember what it was, but it tasted floraly).
- Ice cold beers
- Amazing platters of meat and locally grown veggie dishes all freshly made in front of your eyes.
- Unbelievable music all night long
- Shots of sambuca
- Amazing people, conversations and stories to listen to. (Naturally, I have forgotten all of them. Not sure how that happened?)
- Lots of laughing...

Dude on the Decks told me loads about this ultra rare Israeli LP by Sarah Badani, a female musician of Indian origin. She immigrated to Israel in the 50s/60s and made a bit of a name for herself in the music scene by fusing the two cultures and music styles together. She released a few albums which are so rare to find now. This track/album was released in 1975 I think...

Freakin amazing!

Since my return, I have been searching for this LP but I dont think I'll ever find it in this lifetime. The last place I saw it was online and it sold for £250... I will also need to buy a LP player too!

Thanks for the good times @port_said
