Oright lads…

…can I blag a can of Red Stripe from ya?

So I'm hanging out with my music teacher and his band backstage at the MOFO (@MoseleyFolkFestival) in Birmingham.

I'm shooting some backstage footage whilst the musicians are trying to relax their nerves, warm up a little and make some last minute changes to their set list.

Next thing you know, this geezer on his LILAC #ukulele (who was a bit toasted), bursts into our tent and serenades us and sings, "Oright lads, can I blag a can of Red Stripe from ya?"

We all burst out in hysterics!!!

Carlos, our guitar hero joins in and jams along with this guy. Dude got everyone relaxed and chilled after that...

(If you ever need an Icebreaker, go get yourself a lilac ukulele.

Sadly, we had no cans of Red Stripe in our tent, but we did have a bit of banter for a minute or two, and then he left to serenade another tent in search of his festival beer!

I kept wondering who this guy was for the rest of the day and how the heck he managed to get into the artist area??? But anyway, that thought vanished like a cloud in the sky.

So while we were checking out the rest of the amazing acts during the festival, the time came for the main headline act. The MC announced the next band, Ocean Colour Scene.

We all whooped it up big time, especially me, as I loved listening to these guys growing up.

The band walked on, started singing and got the crowd hyped up!!!! 10 seconds into their tune, I'm like, maaaan, that voice sounds familiar.

Turns out the ukulele dude was Simon Fowler, LEAD bloody singer of Ocean Colour Scene - Oh La La La!!!!

They played a wicked gig that night and the crowd absolutely loved them!
