Permanently Under Construction

About a year ago, I went to visit my friend/old work colleague at their new swanky job.

Whilst I was there, I was introduced to some of their amazing co workers who told me loads about their work place culture, values and core foundations. What makes them unique!

I always love conversations like these. Hearing different points of views, especially when they are layered with philosophical analogies!

Here are a few learnings that float around my mind every so often from that conversation.

You as a human, have a foundation already. Something you can build on.

For me, this is all about investing in people’s lived experiences.

As an employee - you’re always ‘under construction’.

It’s good to say “I ain’t perfect, but I’m working on it’.

Just like one of my favourite tabla players says, “Be the best student you can be”. (Ustad Zakir Hussain).

You gotta own your outcome.

The good, the bad, and everything in between. There's always something new to learn!
